Somerset Military Museum

Since the museum re-opened following major refurbishment at the end of September 2011, it hosts a series of displays, complimenting the stories told in the main Museum of Somerset. Uniform, medal and regimental displays, as well as tributes to those who lost their lives serving our country, are all located within the appropriate site of Taunton Castle.

The Museum of Somerset

Set in the heart of Taunton, the museum tells the county's story from prehistoric times to present day using real objects, interactive games, eye catching film projections and the words and voices of Somerset people, past and present. An under floor Plesiosaur, the largest collection of Roman coins ever discovered in Britian and a chilling recreation of the infamous Bloody Assizes - you'll find them all here. A great day out for all the family with free entry to the museum.
