Loe Bar Beach

An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Loe Bar is a sandbank that formed in the 12th or 13th Century. Strong currents make it unsuitable for swimming here, but it is a popular spot for sea fishing and kite flying, while Loe Pool is a haven for bird watchers. The area is great for walking; particularly the circular walk from Porthleven around Loe Pool.

Just along the coast from the popular beach at Praa Sands, Rinsey is a sand and boulder cove reached down a steep cliff path. The climb is worth it for the stunning views of old mine workings perched on the clifftops. The crags at Trewavas Head are popular with rock climbers.

Gunwalloe Church Cove

Dollar Cove on the Lizard takes its name from the coins that have occasionally been found here from the wreck of a 17th Century ship. Also known as Jangye-ryn. Mostly pebbly, with odd patches of sand.

A west-facing pebble beach at the far end of Porthleven beach. Swimming is not recommended due to treacherous water conditions so the beach is normally pretty quiet. The nearest car park is at Chuch Cove beach and involves a walk along the coastal path,

With lovely views over the ocean, this is a quiet beach as access is limited.The beach is made up of large rocky boulders surrounded by patches of sand. There are lots of rock pools at low tide. Praa Sands beach is close by and a better choice for easier access and facilitiles.

Steep cliffs form the backdrop to this beach, which can only be accessed via the coast path unless it's low tide - please take care not to get cut off by the rising tide. The beach is mainly made up of coarse sand and shingle, it does shelve, so can be dangerous for swimming.
