Starting from the pretty fishing village of Porthallow, park on the pebbly beach and take the coastal path in an easterly direction. The path climbs up the cliff and then follows a route through heathland and grassland where Nare Head stands looking proudly out to sea about two miles away. This is a lovely scenic walk with views over the water towards St Mawes Head. Wear suitable footwear as the path is uneven at times and can be muddy.

This is a stunning area for a walk with dramatic cliffs, pretty countryside and a coastal path which is hard to beat. Cadgwith has a great pub for a drink or snack before or after your walk (also home to the Cadwith Singers who entertain both locals and visitors most Friday evenings) and the local fish shop sells the freshest fish you'll ever find, caught by local fishermen daily. Park in St Ruan car park beside the village hall and follow the inland footpath leading to Cadgwith. Pick up the coastal path and enjoy the stunning cliff top scenery with views towards Lizard Lighthouse and Kennack Sands. At Poltesco follow the path back inland to the car park. Points of interest include pilchard cellars and capstan houses with colourful shingle at Carleon Cove. There are some hilly/steep sections on the coastal path. A lovely 3 mile walk with a dog friendly pub en-route.
Find the red brick wall that sits incongruously on the cliffs at Bass Point on the 'Three Sides of the Lizard' walk. This circular walk starts and finishes in The Lizard village, taking you around The Lizard's rugged tip, via mainland England's most southerly point. Keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse of the rare and elusive chough - this is the nesting ground for the only pair in England.
The picturesque hamlet of Helford has a lovely walk along the river, up alongside Frenchman's Creek and then through woodland past Kestle and back to the village.
One of the nicest walks in the Helford valley is from Mawnan Church, just outside the village, to Rosemullion Head. You walk through woodland and then join the coastal path for wonderful views across Falmouth Bay.
