The museum is set in the castle and offers an interesting insight into life in Bude, its varied geology, history and its progression from a port to most recently a surfing centre. Education facilities, a shop and restaurant are on site and the restaurant has stunning views.
You will find very diverse wildlife habitat here due to the Culm grassland which is a marshy, heathy vegetation. With a vast range of wild flowers, plus rare plants, insects, birds and mamals, it is well worth the effort to find!

Standing alongside St. Winaloe Parish Church, Poundstock Gildhouse is a Grade 1 listed building and is a fine example of a medieval chuch house. Restoration has taken place with the aid of Heritage Lottery Funding and the Gildhouse will be open to the public and available for functions throughout the year. The Gildhouse is situated next to the church and is open to the public on Wednesdays between Easter and the end of October. Over the years it's had many uses incuding an church hall, poor house and school. To this day it is still in use as a community facility. There are good information boards outside giving historic information.
