You will find very diverse wildlife habitat here due to the Culm grassland which is a marshy, heathy vegetation. With a vast range of wild flowers, plus rare plants, insects, birds and mamals, it is well worth the effort to find!
Standing alongside St. Winaloe Parish Church, Poundstock Gildhouse is a Grade 1 listed building and is a fine example of a medieval chuch house. Restoration has taken place with the aid of Heritage Lottery Funding and the Gildhouse will be open to the public and available for functions throughout the year. Set in the heart of the village this medieval church dates back to the thirteenth century. The Gildhouse is situated next to the church and is open to the public on Wednesdays between Easter and the end of October. Over the years it's had many uses incuding an church hall, poor house and school. To this day it is still in use as a community facility. There are good information boards outside giving historic information.
Centrally located and in an elevated position, this 12th century Norman church has a 13th century Effigy and stonework along with a brass to Sir John Arundell of Trerice (1561).
