A traditional 18th century coaching house which has been restored and now offers a comfortable place to stop off for a drink or meal. The menu offers pub classics and there is a skittle alley and beer garden available.

Home cooked food is a speciality here with Sunday roasts being a favourite. There's a play area, large garden and decking with views over the countryside. Dogs are welcome.

A busy and thriving market town, Bridport is one of the most popular gateways to the Jurassic Coast. The town still has two weekly markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, perfect for local produce and crafts. You will also find a good selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Bridport lies just inland from West Bay with a shingle beach, dramatic sandstone cliffs and a pretty harbour that perfectly complements Bridport's charms.

A traditional village pub with warming real fires in winter and a beer garden for the summer months. Here you'll find a varied menu, excellently cooked and beautifully presented. There's a good wine choice and service is friendly and efficient. You'll also find a skittle alley for family entertainment. The pub has limited opening times so you may wish to check with them before planning a visit. Bookings are advisable particularly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

A grade II 17th Century thatched village pub, the award winning Half Moon offers a seasonal menu and daily specials crafted with local produce. With proud oak beams and cosy inglenooks, this pub is perfect for all months with a suntrap beer garden for the summer and roaring open fires in the winter. Dogs are welcome and there is a play corner for kids too.

A traditional English country pub with amazing views of the Dorset countryside. Locals, walkers and cyclists are made very welcome and it's the perfect place for refreshments after a climb up nearby Eggardon Hill. Bring your dog, they are welcome too.

Centrally located in pretty Marshwood Vale, The Shave Cross Inn is a popular thatched Grade II listed building with origins as far back as the 1400's. There's a delightful beer garden perfect for al fresco dining and booking is essential.

'The farm that time forgot' uses traditional farming methods to work the land. This environmental study centre is situated in a nature reserve in the heart of West Dorset and offers courses and lectures on the local flora and fauna as well as art and music.
