Perranuthnoe

The path runs along the coast on the eastern side of Mount's Bay. Pass the jagged rocks of Cudden Point to Prussia Cove, famous for its rock pools and caves as well as the smuggler John Carter, whose obsession with Frederick the Great, the King of Prussia, led to the naming of the area. Heading west will take you to Marazion.

Mousehole to Lamorna

Take the South West Coast Path from Mousehole harbour to the lovely cove at Lamorna. Follow the coast path signs with the sea on your left. The path hugs the coast, with opportunities for bird watching and terraces can still be seen where early daffodils were once grown for the London market. Go in April to see wild daffodils in flower. You can return by the same route or follow the signs inland from Lamorna harbour which will bring you back into Mousehole behind the bird hospital and down the hill back to the harbour.

Coverack to Black Head

From Coverack there is a lovely circular walk along the coastal path to Chynhalls Point and Black Head, and then turning inland to walk across fields and country lanes back to the village.

Loe Pool Round Walk

Park opposite the chapel and walk either way around Loe Pool. It's about six miles and a lovely walk through woodland where it can be muddly in winter, and across the sand bar. There's a cafe at The Stables which serves great coffee and cake (only open weekends during winter). Check the route map at the car park before you set off to ensure you know where you are going.

Porthallow and Nare Point

Starting from the pretty fishing village of Porthallow, park on the pebbly beach and take the coastal path in an easterly direction.The path climbs up the cliff and then follows a route through heathland and grassland where Nare Head stands looking proudly out to sea about two miles away. This is a lovely scenic walk with views over the water towards St Mawes Head. Wear suitable footwear as the path is uneven at times and can be muddy.

Cadgwith to Poltesco Walk

This is a stunning area for a walk with dramatic cliffs, pretty countryside and a coastal path which is hard to beat. Cadgwith has a great pub for a drink or snack before or after your walk (also home to the Cadwith Singers who entertain both locals and visitors most Friday evenings) and the local fish shop sells the freshest fish you'll ever find, caught by local fishermen daily. Park in St Ruan car park beside the village hall and follow the inland footpath leading to Cadgwith. Pick up the coastal path and enjoy the stunning cliff top scenery with views towards Lizard Lighthouse and Kennack Sands. At Poltesco follow the path back inland to the car park. Points of interest include pilchard cellars and capstan houses with colourful shingle at Carleon Cove. There are some hilly/steep sections on the coastal path. A lovely 3 mile walk with a dog friendly pub en-route.

Men-an-Tol

Start on the moors outside Penzance at this ancient monument for views of all three coasts. In olden days children with rickets were passed naked through the stones to be cured. Make your way to Lanyon Quoit and then Ding Dong Mine engine house.

Penrose Estate

Park for free and take a walk through wooded valleys around Cornwall's largest lake. The walk will take you around Loe Pool and to the sea, across the sand bar and back along the other side (about six miles in total). For the energetic there's an outdoor gym and a cafe has just opened en-route at the Stables where you can enjoy coffee, tea and cakes. Take note though, it's only open at weekends and during school holidays.

250 acres of woodland with over nine miles of paths to explore and a gentle three mile cycle track. Peaceful woods, lakes, picnic areas and a cafe make Tehidy a great choice for a day out when you want to get away from it all. In spring, the carpet of bluebells is quite a sight.
