Flushing lies across the water from Falmouth and rumour has it that this atmospheric village enjoys the mildest climate in the country. With sandy beaches, friendly pubs and lush, green woodland surrounding it; Flushing is a wonderfully relaxing oasis at any time of year.

The walk from Trefusis Lodge to Flushing is pleasant and easy going. The village is a typical Cornish harbour village with pretty coloured painted cottages and several handsome Georgian buildings. There is a small pebbly beach with views cross to Falmouth and out to Pendennis Castle. There are two pubs with friendly atmosphere. The postman seems to be an unofficial tourist guide - full of useful local information!
